Im Sommer 1995 gegruendet, zelebrieren STIGMATIZED seit nunmehr 15 Jahren den Thrash/Death Metal. Anfangs noch eher im Thrash heimig, kamen im Laufe der Jahre immer mehr Death Metal Elemente hinzu. In den Jahren 1996 – 2003 spielte man viele Konzerte, es folgten Line-Up Wechsel und die Aufnahme dreier Demos sowie einer Promo CD, die alle positiv in der regionalen Szene angenommen wurden.
Die jahrelange Erfahrung der einzelnen Musiker machte sich langsam bemerkbar und so entstanden nach und nach zehn extrem starke Songs, die im Fruehjahr des Jahres 2006 im Soundlodge Studio (u.a. Sinister, God Dethroned, Dew Scented, Obscenity) aufgenommen wurden. Das Debut Album „Live In Despair“ erschien im Sommer 2006 und wurde von der deutschen Metalpresse abgefeiert. Old School Death/Thrash "at it's best".
So lag die Messlatte fuer ein neues Album schon im Vorfeld enorm hoch. Im Sommer 2007 wurde Remission Records auf die Band aufmerksam und so erblickte nach einem Jahr harter Arbeit im April 2008 "Becoming Unique" das Licht der Welt. Auf diesem Album entwickelte man sich in Richtung Death Metal, aber nie verloren STIGMATIZED ihren abwechslungsreichen Stil.
Das nun vorliegende Album "Whispers Of The Dead" ist wieder eine gelungene Mischung aus Thrash und Death Metal. Es wurde erneut unter der Leitung von Joerg Uken im Soundlodge Studio eingepruegelt. Das Coverartwork stammt aus dem Hause Killustrations, wo man dafuer gesorgt hat "Whispers Of The Dead" auch optisch aufzuwerten.
Musikalisch ueberwiegt, wie in den Anfangstagen, der Thrash. Michael (vocals) klingt oefter mal eher nach Mille Petrozza oder Tom Araya als nach John Tardy. (Love And Blood, Whispers Of The Dead) Aber man kann auch anders, schnelle Blastattacken und Growls die durch Mark und Bein gehen. (Disturbance Of Equilibrium, The Addicted) Abgerundet durch die fette Produktion, wird dieses Album zu einem absoluten Highlight in diesem Genre.

Since 1995, the German band STIGMATIZED has been celebrating death/ thrash metal. Starting initially as what could be considered a typical thrash band Stigmatized, over time, evolved to include more death metal elements. Between the years 1996 and 2003, the band enjoyed numerous bookings playing gigs at a variety of venues across Germany, during which the band line up changed a number of times. It was also during this time that 3 demos and a promotional CD were recorded, all of which were received very positively by the regional scene.
The amassed experience and talent of each musician resulted in the combined production of 10 excellent songs, each of which were meticulously composed step by step and were recorded in the Soundlodge Studio (Sinister, God Dethroned, Dew Scented, and Obscenity). The first album “Live in Despair” made its first appearance in the summer of 2006, and was celebrated extensively as “old school death/thrash metal at its best!” The success of the first album set the bar high with regards to the expectations of a successful second album. In 2007 Remission Records took notice of the band, this facilitated the production of the second studio album and so “Becoming Unique” was born. This time there was a bigger death metal influence to the song writing. But the typical diversified style and sprit of STIGMATIZED remained.
With the new album “Whispers of the Dead” STIGMATIZED offers a felicitous mixture of death and thrash metal. It was recorded under the superb direction of Jörg Uken in the Soundlodge Studio. The cover artwork was produced by Killustrations where “Whispers of the Dead” was also upgraded visually.
With regards to the musical aspect, as in previous years, the album gravitates towards thrash metal. By adding more variation, Michael (vocals), is often reminiscent of Tom Araya or Mille Petrozza, more so than of John Tardy (Love and Blood, Whispers of the Dead). But the well-known blast attacks and growls that pierce through marrow and bone are definitely not lost in this masterpiece (The Addicted, Disturbance of Equilibrium)! Topped off with a great production, this album is fast becoming an absolute highlight of its genre.
