„Stiche ins Herz“ – wir kennen sie alle in vielen Facetten. „Stabbing My Heart“ – das scheint da die richtige Konsequenz. „Mein Herz erstechen“, denn was uns nicht umbringt, macht uns schliesslich haerter. Deutlich haerter und bitterer sind die Musik und die Texte von Broken Marble unueberhoerbar geworden: Da sind die unverwechselbaren brachialen Gitarrenriffs, die dionysisch-treibenden Bass- und Drumpatterns und dazu die robuste wie empathisch-sinnliche Stimme der Frontfrau Ina Zeplin. Doch immer wieder durchziehen filigrane Elemente das massive Fundament der Musik: transzendent-zarte Electro-Sounds, fast schon symphonische Referenzen an Filmmusik von Morricone und Co. und Hip-Hop-Anleihen machen aus dem hartem Musikgestein den „Broken Marble“.

Stabs to the heart - we all know them in many ways. “Stabbing my heart” seems just consequential. That which does not kill us makes us stronger after all. The music and lyrics of Broken Marble have become distinctively harder and bitterer. There are the unmistakable brutal guitar riffs, the Dionysian and driving drum patterns and the robust as well as empathic and sensual voice of front woman Ina Zeplin. But then again there are always sophisticated elements in the massive foundation of their music. Transcendent and tender electro sounds, almost symphonic references to the film music of Morricone and Co. and elements adapted from Hip Hop turn rock-hard music into “Broken Marble”.
Sometimes full of anger and defiance, like in the song “Bodycheck”, then again full of melancholy and longing like in the anthemic “Autumn Leaf” – with their new album “Stabbing My Heart” Broken Marble want to rip into the hearts of their fans.
